What to Do in a Dental Emergency?
If your child is experiencing a dental emergency, follow these steps to minimize discomfort and protect their smile while you make your way to our office:
- Assess the Situation: Stay calm and evaluate your child’s symptoms. If they’re in pain or there’s visible damage, it’s likely an emergency.
- Call Us Right Away: Contact our office at (281) 297-8100 for immediate guidance. We’ll help you decide the best next steps and fit you in as quickly as possible.
- Provide Temporary Relief:
-For toothaches, rinse your child’s mouth with warm salt water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Avoid aspirin, which can cause further irritation.
-For chipped or broken teeth, save any tooth fragments and bring them with you to the office.
-For a knocked-out tooth, keep the tooth moist. Place it in milk or a saline solution and avoid handling the root. - Get to Our Office: The sooner we see your child, the better the outcome. Our team is trained to handle emergencies swiftly and with a calming approach.
