What Is a Tongue-Tie?
A tongue-tie (or ankyloglossia) occurs when the band of tissue under the tongue (the lingual frenum) is too tight, restricting movement. This can affect:
- Breastfeeding & Bottle-Feeding – Difficulty latching, excessive gas, or poor weight gain.
- Speech Development – Trouble pronouncing certain sounds or delayed speech.
